    D2 auto thump into reverse. M & S flashing

Hi when I select reverse after being in drive the auto trans sometimes thumps into gear causing the M & S lights to flash. The red dot on the selector flashes as does the R on the dash. I turn the car off and on and alls ok. The trans has just been serviced and is shifting smoothly etc. any thoughts as to what causing this.

    Thanks

I'd sugest that as the automatic has just been serviced it may be worth checking the fluid level again.
These automatics don't behave when low on oil.

The popular causes for theses lights are...
    -Low battery voltage when cranking.
-The XYZ as stated, usualy caused by water from the heater box drains driping on it.
    Cheers, Kyle

Next time let the engine run for a bit before you stick it in reverse this lets the alternator get a bit charge back into your tired battery . On one of mine i have it on a charger two days in the week to avoid this and im too cheap to buy a new battery .

because I am bad at writing in English so I do my best to explain your problem is the sensor for the automatic transmission that has moisture in itself probably from acn it is possible to winkle out the seal to the electrical cables and let it dry. it is mounted under the white pipe in the picture and serves on the power plug you can see in the picture no need to replace the unit will try to send pictures of how you do it if you want more pictures contact me at mail anders.dux@hotmail.com some tip is to fit better grip for power cables of the automatic gearbox and attach a pipe to divert water from acn.
