    V8 rebuild?

Typical bloody Pommy engine............lol............leaking oil and water.
Anyway seeing as i gotta start doing some repairs contemplating a few upgrades at same time. 2003 4 litre V8 runs fine economy seems to be better than most but thinking of doing a cam upgrade? While the motor is out and doing a few gaskets maybe port matching, anything else? Any suggestions on what the best upgrades are and if any particular order to do them in? thanks in advance

Either fix the gaskets that are leaking and leave it that, or go the whole hog on a high compression 4.6 transplant, with the top hat liners fitted of course.

Yes I would second that, it makes a big difference to your D2.
You will need a crank, rods, and 4.6 cam to make the switch. The Maf sensor is different (not visually) too, plus the injectors. (Bosch engine).

Yes I cuss the unit at times about leakage from Pom engines in general AND being a transplanted Pom to the US I have to state that at least LR got the block to hold oil!

When it was made by Buick it had about a 90% scrap rate due to porosity, and the Yanks shelved the unit as being too uneconomical to build.
So they did get something right, proved even when GM wanted to buy it back !
