Thread: Forward Facing 3rd row seats

arent they the standard D2 3rd row seats??
2 minutes to remove just the seats.
belts etc take a while longer---

As Pedro said 2 mins to remove only 2 bolts holding it to side of cargo bay.
But the side trims of the cargo bay are different to a 5 seater,
5 seaters have cargo bins with lids.

I have dual zone air on my disco and the left rear side panel sticks out further than the right side, this is to house the rear aircon workings. So I'd imagine the frame inside that the left rear seat bolts to would be different to a 5 seater vehicle.

thanks. Haven't got it yet but we're close... (sorting out finance, 'approval' so far) will be a quick trip to sydney for me if all goes well and then the bulldust of registering in vic lol

They look like standard folding rear seats without the rear airconditioning - easy to remove as are the head rests. What appear to be "tracks" are actually the points where the seats latch onto the floor.

ah even better. Not too fussed about asthetics on the floor as eventually there'll be a gas tank in there and dummy floor over top to the same level that the middle row seats fold down to. Given this is a longer bummed series2 versus the 95 3 door I used to have, I might actually be able to lay out in a straight line to sleep instead of diagonally lol

that magical 8 inches is not easy to locate once packing starts!

make sure you check the roof lining,
someone looks up at the back of the block for coolant leaks,
sepentine belt condition is good indicator of servicing.
You should get 3 chimes at dash lights(before starting), and check ALL the dash lights self test.

ahem.. ok then lol, no am 5'11 but quite uncivilised, one only needs clean jox and sox, toothpaste and towels lol, so can pack lightly

Yes will be interested in any last minute checklists to follow before I sign papers and drive it out the gate. Im well aware of the marking territory (have had a disco before), I am happy to clamber around beneath to check for leaks. Must read up on the misbehaving 3 amigos to make sure I'm aware of their idiosyncracies, and I will run it, aircon full blast, for the entire test drive and a fair bit of stationary time to ensure the kettle doesn't boil
