Check every hose in the engine fOr wear or chafing. Use a torch and mirror. not just the big ones either.
Where hoses have started to rub, but still ok wrap and cable tie old hoses around for protection.
If you are going to carry spare hoses and belts I suggest you fit these and carry the removed ones for spares. This way you know that they will fit.
I did a trip around Australia in 1978. We carried spare hoses and belts. This vehicle had three belts, one each fore the alternator, water pump and air conditioning. We did not need to use any on this trip, but at the next service I decided to fit them. It turned out that one of them was the wrong belt, the most important one, the water pump.
