Had the same issue with my front one so I pulled out the centre swaped out the o ring and fixed my locker was near 10 years old by then.

Went off road last weekend and had an issue with my rear ARB diff locker, which I thought some of you might be interested in. When I engaged the locker on the flat (ie unloaded) or when going down hill, the air compressor and locker operated as they should. However, when going uphill, air compressor ran continuously. A couple of my companions said they'd had the problem before and suggested the it was cause by an O-ring which seals the air line in the diff. When going uphill, the internals rotate a little and pinch the O ring allowing the leak. When going downhill the internals rotate the other way and don't pinch the O-ring. Have booked in with ARB to fix (earliest available 3 weeks away!) and expect (hope?) it will be done under warranty.

Before you pull the centre out, check that the breather pipe spud on top of the axle housing is clear, if it gets blocked it can cause your problem, I had same problem, cleaned out blocked breather, problem fixed, Regards Frank.
The "spud" is the fitting screwed into the top of the axle housing that the plastic pipe (breather) is attached to, can be a vertical or horizontal fitting, usually horizontal, one of the symptoms of blocked breather is leaking pinion seal, another is diff oil being exhausted out of ARB solenoid on compressor, regards Frank.
