    New to the D2

    Hi,
I have a couple of questions about my new D2.

    1. I have the standard cloth trim with hard backing on the seats. Can I attach child restraint bolts to the back of the seat in a similar way to the D2a?

    2. I have the factory radio with sony 10 stacker CD under the drivers seat. The radio only has buttons 1 - 6. How do I select CDs 7, 8,9, and 10?

    3. What is the large plastic chess peace (looks like a castle) in the Land Rover tool kit for.

Re 3. Chess piece that is a plastic useless piece of (Blank) that is used to pull the chrome cover off the lock nut so you can use the key socket on it.
The cover with the concave bit is the lock nut cover

For the side child restraints, the anchor point goes in the back of the seat about half way down, or the centre one goes in the roof at the very rear.

    Hi Gullible,

The hard back on the seats, should have a hard point already installed for the securing of a baby seat.
Mine is a 2001 D2, with child seat mounts in the middle of the rear left and right seats. Then there is another mounted in the roof, just above the rear swing away door, in case you need to have a seat in between the left and right.
Also, when installing a child seat, pull out the seat belt out all the way, then retract it after latching. Pulling it out all the way first, then sets up a ratchet mechanism, so the belt locks into position and can only tighten.

The numbers on the radio are for the channel preset, to change cd's you use the the arrow up down buttons left of button one. Assuming we have same radio.

I have two plastic buttons in the middle of the rear left and right seats.

I was hoping that they were covering the mounting point. I just wanted a level of comfort before I attempt to remove them.
