ok looking at the first pic in your post the heater hose I normally pull is about the middle left of shot. its a metal pipe thats connected to a hose at the back of the engine, the pipe runs forwards between the heatshiled and the rocker cover/cam plate section of the head then jumps up to connect onto the offshoot from the main radiator hose to the left of your bleed screw

Normally I pull the radiator side hose off and jamb the garden hose into the pipe and then put the hose into a section of 19mm hose the runs straight down to drain
