I'll be watching this thread with interest as I too have a high mount & a D2 ARB bar (non winch). I did the same as you are saying re; the grill on my D1 - pics attached.
Hi all I am looking for pictures of ARB winch bars mounted to D2's.
Currently trying to mod my bar to take a high mount winch. And before we pull the bumper off for some test fitting. Just need some pictures to get an idea of how much room we have to deal with.
We have already worked out the grill is going to be cut up. But it's working out how deep we can go. As there is two different custom mounting positions possible on the bar.
1- mounted basically the same as a low mount normally fits, and have bigger penetration into the grill area. But keeps the winch low.
2- mount flush on the main face of the bar. The grill still gets trimmed. But gives us an extra 50mm'ish. But is higher, so upper part of grill gets cut also.
So any pics of the top of the bar and how far it sits under the grill would be great. It will help us get a better idea of what will work.
And if your in the Bendigo area and I can come take some photos with a ruler that would be awesome. .

G'day Larry.
I pulled the grill out and got some pics. There is a fair amount of room there. There is 2 diagonal braces. 1 will need to be clearanced.
And there is a lower cross brace that will need to be cut and braced somehow.
Hi Turps
I'm in Bendigo so you can come and measure my D2 and ARB bar if you need. PM me your contact details. We should be around on the w/e.
Woops - just noticed the pics. Measuring my Sahara bar probably of no help!

Sorry Simon. Got distracted other the weekend.
Should be right now. As we will have a full day to tinker with it on Saturday. So will take the bumper off and trial fit the deluxe bar. And work out what we need to cut.
Doesn't look that hard to get the bumper off. If it's as easy as the grill, I will be wrapped. as that took me 20min to remove, take pictures then reinstall.
