    Do they recondition them in an exchange type situation?
    Might be a bit far for me but would still be interested if anyone has experience with them and costs etc.

    my experience says you are saving $1500 odd by fitting that used box as opposed to reco. its your call but bear in mind that a used 4hp22eh can have faults, too, and warranty is a whole lot less.

    This is definitely something I want to get right the first time, but I still don't know where I am going to get $3000 from.
    I will speak to the mechanic and ask a few more questions about the donor transmission.
