    Nanocom ECU reading issue

    Hi,

Yesterday I was driving reading MAF values on the Nanocom no problems, after reading some of the values I thought it would be good to buy a new MAF from the land Rover dealer, since changing it out this afternoon I cant read anything on the Nanocom it just keeps saying "can not connect to ECU". I have tried to cycle through every function and it keeps saying the same thing....

    Is my ECU buggered?

    Is the Nanocom buggered?

the car still seems to be driving ok.

    I am confused.

    Cheers in advance

If you get those kind of messages the first thing to try is unplugging the Nanocom, turn off the ignition for at least 30 seconds, then replug the Nanocom, are turn on the ignition. This should reset the ECU communication bus.

The evo manual has this comment about comms errors:
    - If for some reason the communication stops and you get an error message, you have to turn off the ignition for more than 15 seconds, in some case you may wait more than one minute.
It is really worthwhile taking the time to read through the documentation available from http://web.nanocom.it/download_i.cfm at least once. It will save you a lot of grief.

It can be annoying, but unlikely to be the Nanocom. I have comms issues with the Auto ECU, but haven't had problems with the others.

It's likely to be a grounding issue relating to the ECU and there is a helpful FAQ for this issue:

    cheers
