Whats the part number on the end of the ECU?

    MSB or NNN prefix?

And if it had been opened before:
The casing would have a few 'tell' marks from being pried off.
The main Chip (44 pin) would show signs of being de-soldered and re-soldered.

For an every day driver, if you aren't going a larger Turbo / VNT option I would suggest:

    - Later model D2a intercooler (larger factory)
    - Tweak wastegate
    - Sort the exhaust (as mentioned previously)
    - Look at a mild ReMap, but nothing too big with the Auto
    - Consider an Upgraded Ashcroft Torque Converter (lowers stall improves response)

On MSB units, Bruce Davis always *use* to put a sticker on the chip identifying which mapping he had fitted.

I'm guessing yours may be stock.

Tombie. I have just purchased an 03 TD5, I believe these have a reflashable ECU and that you sell the performance maps. Is this correct and if so what do they cost?
    Dave.

I was asked " Is it ignorance or apathy?" I replied "I don't know and I don't care."

The one I have in mine has a small round white sticker - with the following written in biro:

    Td5
    SA4
    NE2
    OU497

I contacted BD about this and while they could confirm it was one of theirs I couldn't get any information about the state of tune etc. The sticker is on the top face of the case, so I had to undo the retaining screw and lift the ECU out to check the markings.

    cheers

The BD sticker is usually on the outside of the case That looks more like a factory installed label to me.
