Mirror Compass

Just on the mirror topic, how good are defrosting wing mirrors? I know my D2 is coming up to its 14th birthday but I still love all the techno features.

I have a new xtrail for work and the inside mirror doesn't automatically adjust to headlights coming up behind me and the bloody wing mirrors don't defrost. So annoying every morning leaving for work. I drive for 80 Km's to work without the use of side mirrors - even if I repeatedly clean them they frost or fog up again.

That'll do D2, that'll do fine :D

Are you saying that you have heated external mirrors on a D2?

Yeah I do. Doesn't everyone? They seem to turn on when you hit the rear defrost.

Mine is a 7 seater 2003 TD5, no fruit, but has the electric mirror.

My 02 7 seater has the compass mirror and the heated outside mirrors. It's an SE model.

I learn something new every day. When you were talking about heated mirrors, I was assuming that you must have had a switch for them, and I was wondering why I did not have them.

In the 18 months that I have owned the D2 I have rarely used my rear demister.

And heated seats... wonderful! 2002 Td5 ES, 7 seater. It was a demo and pretty much has everything.

Heated Seats. A real sore point with me. My 96 ES has them, my 03 HSE doesn't. I have been told that it might have the elements in the seats, but I have not had time to look.

Some winter mornings get into the minuses, and warm dead cow is nice.

Dave, not sure if the elements are there in the AU models but have a search on discoweb.org as I've seen discussions on there about NA spec cars. Certainly you can buy the elements.

I have an electrical connector with three yellow/orange wires. Is this the one for the mirror?
Has anyone tried fitting a mirror with Homelink from North America?
