    Time to chip

Hi all, after my last trip up here in the NT and having enough of trying to overtake the occasional road train at snail pace I think I should splash out for a chip upgrade.

    I have a 02 TD5, 130km auto with standard config...

Can anyone suggest a reasonably cost effective option for me to do up here from Darwin to suit an all-rounder driven td5 with the occasional light towing.

There is quite a lot of info on Chipping for the TD5 on the Forum.
I have a feeling your ECU will be the MSB prefix # and therfore will need to be opened and chipped. The later NNN prefix # ECU can be reflashed.
TRS in Adelaide do a reasonable map for the MSB ECU or there are options for NNN remap which will require you to have access to suitable Diagnostic equipment for the upgrade to be done.

For you this means if an MSB ECU, you can send it away to be "Chipped" or (if you have Diagnostic tool like Nanocom or Hawkeye) you can have them send a Chipped ECU to you, load your injector codes and Security settings, then send the old unit back to them.

Check the "Members with Diagnostic Equipment" thread and see who is Darwin and go from there.

    cheers
