    Over full TD5 auto transmission

Hi guys. Silly question but will an overfill transmission cause it to shift roughly into gear? I've just had it serviced and since then when I shift from D to R there is a noticeable thump into gear. This doesn't happen going from P to R though.

    Your thoughts would be appreciated.

nope. it will cause premature overheating however.

your symptoms are more like drive line take up with wear in the tcase, diffs, props+ujs and the drive flanges, you might also have a dying a frame ball joint.

it will be shifting better with new fluid in it and that will be amplifying the condition./

Do you actually know if it's overfull? It's very easy to check and drain out the excess.
