    Bleed Brakes D2 V8

    Hi everyone.

    Ive blown another head gasket on my 1999 V8 and im going to drive it around to a mates workshop and pull the engine down myself and rebuild. Only problem is i have no brake pedal at all. Replaced the master cylinder about a year ago and its been sitting idle for about 4 months. Anyone know the procedure for bleeding the brakes up again, without the nanocom etc.

    Can you get any pedal pumping them up? If not, solve problem 1 - who fixed it when you got the m/c replaced?

    If so, just bleed them like you would normally do - with LHF, RHF, LHR, RHR as the sequence. Look for the reason for the loss of pedal - it may be important.

    Thanks for that.

    Nope i have no pedal and get nothing when we pump them up. I guess im making sure that you dont need to do anything special with ABS etc before i start. Dont want to start bleeding and then find that ive stuffed something else.

    I have read some comments about having to do power bleeds on these systems before and i'm trying to figure out if that applies to me.

    not sure this is the problem though,,

    You are probably right. I suspect that the master cylinder is done, but if i try and bleed them first then will that prove the point, or should i just replace the master and then bleed them

    Found the post about bleeding them. Its pretty much the same as the clutch so that will be easy.
