Best EGR removal kits?
Hi Guys
With so many kits available for purchase on the internet and ebay ... is there a preference? Can you recommend a vendor?
TRS / Td5 Alive / All Four x 4 spares ...
Is there a difference between these and the cheap ones on ebay?

Thanks

Disco EMU,
I got mine and replacement silicon hoses from Paddock Spares in the UK. I thought that they offered the best price inc postage. Very happy with the kit. Just be careful when blanking the exhaust manifold that you are careful not to shear the bolts when removing the EGR pipe as you will need to remove the manifold to get the remaining bolt out.
Having said that it is a good excuse to remove the webs and replace any dodgy manifold studs!
Cheers

When I did mine, started down the normal track. However, getting the pipe bolts out proved near impossible. Came up with a more elegant solution.
There is a joint below the EGR valve. The joint uses what is known as a Marmion Clamp.
All I ended up doing was cutting a disc of annealed copper and "fitting" it to the flare.
The "fit" needs to be good, so as to get the clamp back on and the copper annealed allow the copper to flow.

The expensive ones are aluminium rather that zinc coated steel. Compare the flanges for example.
The Allard kit is pretty good. I had a look around when I got mine and it was one of the better kits on offer.

you'll need to email them for a postage quote to AU. When I got mine the total price worked out close to the same as the UK + shipping cost: £55.00
I don't think you get the gasket for the plate on the exhaust manifold - don't know why they show it?

I used the TD5 Alive kit, very nice ,one piece alluminium billet. Matches the manifold perfectly and looks like it's factory. I blanked the exhaust at the fuel cooler so I didn'thave to muck around with the hoses (D2-a).
