    Removable cargo barrier?

    Hi,
Is there such a thing as a removable cargo barrier for the D2?

I do not want one permanently installed but would like one for the odd family trip away. I'm not that fussed on a full one, a little half one would be OK.

There is the LR dog/luggage guard. Stc50323

Very easy to fit/remove. I wouldn't use if you were intending to pack gear up against it. I pack only to the top of the rear seats so it is mainly to stop the lighter items that get packed on top.

    Hi

I recently went through researching cargo barrier options. All that I looked at were removable and the Milford barrier could also be used in 2 positions. Link to the thread is here:

    http://www.aulro.com/afvb/discovery-...r-options.html

In the end I went with the Genuine dog guard offtrack mentioned. Not as strong as a proper cargo barrier but meets my needs perfectly.

Interestingly when I rang the landrover dealer to get a quote they advised the dog guard was restricted and they couldn't sell me one as it didn't meet Australian standards. Linn rover however were able to get me one from the eastern states within the week. Land rover Australia also do/did an actual cargo barrier for the D2, but I didn't get details. I suspect it may be a rebadged Milford barrier.

    Hi OffTrack,
The dog/luggage guard looks just like what I'm after.

There is a large difference in price on the internet. Where did you get yours from and are you happy with the quality and instillation instructions/process?

I got mine through Britparts in Nth Melbourne, mainly because they are 5 minutes from work.

The one I got was a Brit-Part (UK) job, and isn't too bad. I probably would have opted for Genuine or Travall made one if I'd known but it does the job.

Fitting is pretty straight forward. If you don't have the rear grab handles it requires using a template to drill a hole then cut out a small rectangle of the headliner covering the grab handle mount. This is easily done with a sharp utility knife.

You need to also mount a couple of clips near the seatbelt slot. It's just a matter of drilling a couple of holes each side.

The dog/cargo barrier is shaped so the sides sit in behind the c-pillars. Even if the bottom clips were ripped out of the trim, the barrier would have to be pretzeled before it would be able to move past the c-pillar position.

    cheers

I might have mine still in the shed. I bought the car with the dog barrier installed, but ended up putting in a Milford--suits my needs best.

PM me if you're interested in buying it.

I have just installed a Travall dog barrier. Very easy to fit, very easy to remove and comes with really good instructions.

I paid the extra for the Travall as it looked like the quickest to remove, I'm very glad I did.

Bought online from Travall.com (UK site I think).
Guard 83 pounds, postage 65 pounds. Arrived in 3 days of placing the order. I was not in a hurry for it but that was the postage offered. Very Happy.
