Viscous Fan Removal
Planning to change thermostat on my td5. Bought the tools from Total Tools. Now I am wondering which do I turn to undo the fan bolt. Looks like to turn to the left if looking from the front of the car. But better confirm here. Anyone??

Mine fan was very tight the first time I removed it (had the bugger off what seems like about 100 times since!).
Made up a simple y shaped tool out of two pieces of flat steel which fitted over two of the bolts on the pulley to hold it still while I turned the spanner. Happy to send a photo if needed.

i undone 1 of the 10mm nuts on the pulley, bit fidley,
was able to get my big shifter on then in the right spot.
Good whack with my mash hammer, and it undone.
shifter was to thick to get on with the 10mm bolt heads in the way
