Info that might be of use, the Iveco Daily 3.0 twin turbo uses quite long exhaust studs with spacers very similar to the pictures above. They run very high manifold temps, especially during the post injection after burn that they use to regenerate the DPF ( diesel is injected on the exhaust stroke to create a furnace in the DPF to burn off soot) ECU stores data over the life of the vehicle and I'm getting 730c at entrance to DPF . Have heard about no instances of warped or leaking manifolds, these have been about since 2009.
I dare say its the way to go on a Td5
(BTW I don't like such high temps under the car, esp since I spend a fair bit of time in the Spinnifex, so have deleted my DPF, both physically and in ECU, so no longer get post injection burns - also saves fuel :) Bloody grennies ...don't seem concerned about setting the bush on fire, that will put more carbon in the atmosphere than a deleted DPF !!!

After having numerous issues with studs snapping and manifolds warping I spoke to Dave Blknight about fitting Nissan patrol exhaust studs while we were at Cooma. He gave me some instructions to give to the exhaust guys. 140 000 kM later and no issues.
Anyone know what the tensile rating is for the Wurth studs?
