    2 engine 2 body questions

    2004 TD5 auto 190000kms
Recently replaced the fuel preassure regulator and the little box that controls the turbo. Removed the EGR.

1: engine has ever so light miss/ vibration at idle in neutral put it in gear and it goes away. when pulling up to traffic lights and the auto neutralises as you are slowing down you can feel it also.

2: When under heavy accelerarion like a long hill with the torquc converter unlocked you can feel a little surge on off on off of power. really annoying feel'y like you are pumping the throttle. this is why i replaced the turbo boost controller ( little silver box with 3 hoses )

3: wind the window down ant at the back of the car a whoopie coushin noise starts and wont stop i'm guessing cabin preassure valve but how do i stop it?

4: drivers windscreen wiper skipps across the windscreen. i have fitted new blades no help..

    thanks in advance for suggestions

Check and clean the inlet manifold pressure sensor - it may be gummed up with tar.
Check and clean the MAF sensor.

With the wiper blades look for the "split rail" type. Available from autobarn, they have a metal rail thats joined at only one end. A pain to fit if you loose the little sliding clip that holds them in place to fit but very flexible and cheaper than a lot of other "performance" blades. i usually rotate the passengers side to the rear and toss the rest. They are also graphite coated rubber so they glide well but when they go they go.

And since the modulator was faulty you may have a sticking waste gate.

Spray a bit of Lanotec of WD40 on the entry point to the turbo (when cool) and make sure the rod is free to move.

Remove the engine cover - you will see a black plastic sensor mounted about the mid point on the inlet manifold. It is part of the electrical circuit that controls the turbo wastegate.
