    Td5 fuel pressure regulator megaleak.

Just replaced the regulator on dads 2003 d2a td5, as it had developed a bit of a slow drip.

Job was a bit fiddly, but not too bad.
However, repriming the system, we have fuel pouring from the drain on the new unit.

Did we overlook something, or do Rons trick and score faulty goods?

The o'ring was still present in the head that holds in the extra little fuel filter, wasnt it before you fitted the new gasket and the Regulator?

If you were doing the work from above its possible you were tightening the very rear inlet manifold bolt instead of the bottom regulator block bolt, from above it feels like its the right bolt

dont ask me how I know

2 of us on the job. 1 under, 1 over.

My first thought was the bottom bolt, but it's the regulator capsule squirting out the relief hole. Hoses and housing are dry.

Which gasket is the update? Square or round hole?

sounds like a dud regulator then, was it one of those cheap ebay ones, mine lasted about 1000klm and had to be swapped for a genuine item.

Kit from ebay, from a fella on lr4x4 forum.

Went with that one because the genuine weren't even lasting that long. Typical britpart lucky dip.

Well, no luck. We missed out by a couple of hours.

We just chucked the old unit back in, used the original gasket and the disco is purring again.

The bosch replacement is listed for Audi's and VW golf. Time to hunt one down and try again.
