One reason is a simple matter or demographics - Victoria is the second most populous state in Australia. Not a fact but rather a suspicion is that Victorians change over their cars more often.

ahhhh, you must be talking about me. I usually have a different car every 12 to 24 months.... although it does help that for about 19 of the last 23 years I have been driving I have had two cars at once
...
Offtracks "Law of D2 Availability"...still chuckling.
So very true!!! :D
Tom. the reason there are more in Vic is because you live in Sydney. I am a Victorian and I recently purchased a D2(4 months ago) and I had to go to Canberra. 1976_michelle, also a Victorian purchased a D2 at the same time I got mine. She got hers from Sydney. This proves OffTrack's therory to be accurate.
That bloody Murphy has a lot to answer for doesnt he... damn law has common threads in every aspect of our existence
Maybe the place is being overrun by foreigners that dont like pommy cars. The dumb mentality is that jap 4x4s are more reliable but they are still full of faults and problems like our rovers. Our landrovers dont hold their value because I think some owners are being smashed for services and repairs and word gets around.I admit I couldnt afford my d2 td5 if I didnt do all services and repairs myself. Also the initial purchase is far less for a used disco than a landcruiser or patrol...Ive owned them all..cheers len an EX VICTORIAN.:wasntme:
Coz we try to out do the other dude with his new car.
