do you guys in QLD need to have a roadworthy done like in NSW each year, A customer here in Vic tried to get a disco registered the tester said putting tape over warning lights is a trick they are aware of. All warning lights must illuminate and extinguish on vehicle start.

No. We are allowed to drive the vehicle until the either the wheels fall off or we sell the car. If it's a disco, generally not the later. (or transferring rego to another person as a gift)

I think there are a couple of forums that welcome discussion on that kind of "fix":

    http://www.ihatemydisco.com

If that doesn't work you could try

    Thumbs up AMIGOS FIX

I did replace the modulator once at a severe cost. then after a couple of years the lights appeared soon after start up. when i then stopped the engine warm and restarted they were gone. this is still happening and the abs etc is fully operational but i never have to see those amigos ...that fix was free.I love my vehicle as it flogs most jap diesels and is good on fuel . we live near fraser island so a 4wd is a must and the amigo fix was a cost thing and the d2 is operating fine. cheers.

Have you looked at option B and probably more importantly the fault codes relating to the amigos.

Could be a cheap, more permanent fix.
