    Interesting M&S fault - Thoughts?

Over the last week, the M&S lights have been appearing. Whilst this is not that uncommon as ive only recently diverted the a/c drains away from the xyz switch and DC joint, it used to only happen when i was stationary, ie moving from park to drive.

Now it wants to happen when im in the Burnley tunnel, or turning onto the Bolte bridge in heavy traffic !!! It seems to happen when you are coasting, ie no foot on the accelerator for a while then when you plant the foot to take off again.....nothing.....but flashing M+S lights plus the orange engine light. I quickly turn put the auto in Neutral, switch the engine off then back on again while still coasting, and off i go again. Interstingly, on my way back, I switched on my lights and the M+S lights didnt come back on..... coincidense ...... probably?

This morning over a 20 min drive, it happened 5 times which is starting to get rather annoying as well as dangerous.

Before I go pulling apart the XYZ switch, has anyone experienced this exact thing before. Ive read a heap of posts already but nothing specifically like this.

I have two brand new yellowtop batteries, but ill go out and measure them shortly just to rule them out - as well as my altenator.

    Thoughts?

Have you read your fault codes?

Mine recently had a episode similar to that, no throttle response , flashing M&S, shut down and restarted, no problem since.
Fault code was driver demand error, ie throttle potentiometer
I put it down to trying to put a remap on my ECU and the settling down afterwards?
Yours sounds a more regular occurance though?

Start battery was 12.34 volts, same as the aux. When car was running, both were charging at 14.3 volts, so i assume my alternator is charging them ok.

Looks like tomorrow ill check the earth points behind the centre console ashtray (rear) as it looks like that can be a suspect. Then it's wiring harness chafing then the xys.
Im interesred in the accelerator pot though. Will a poor reading from that throw up the m&s?

Im not sure if i was clear earlier, but when the m&s were on, it didn't go into limp mode, it lost all power, no revs at all regardless of throttle position.

I dont have anything to check the codes with unfortunately. Ill see how i go tomorrow.

I'll be around Sunday if you want to drop past and check codes.

Exactly what mine did, cruising along, idling down the street, pressed accellerator - Nothing
No other symptoms, just throttled off, and when I went to move on, no throttle
Car was still idling fine, M&S flashing, turned off - restarted fine and been fine since

This was a day after I was able to get my standard Map back on my ECU, but that is another story

Checked out the live data for a while afterwards and throttle readings were fine

From what I understand, if the volts of tracks 1 & 2 dont add up to the supply voltage it throws a code?
