    Diff Breather 01 upgrade date.

    G'day.
Reading through the various diff breather threads, noticed it was mentioned that during the 01MY, LR upgraded the diff breathers?
Anyone know the rough date of this?
Replacing the rear tail lights, there was a length of clear hose in the tail light cavities, I'm assuming this is the rear breather?
Just checking, as I gave the disco a bit of a dip the other day, now just checking the oils to make sure there's no nasty H20 in them
    Cheers

Heya DM, According to the RAVE the rear diff breather is located between the chassis and left rear wheel arch. And they are generally the standard L/Rover black plastic pipe. hope this helps'

The change happened on D2's built after 2A755880 (02MY), this means a build date of 18 December 2001 onwards. The TSB describing the change was released after the publication of the final RAVE CD so isn't included.

The breather is rerouted along the chassis and then up behind the passenger side tail light unit, and black tubing is supplied in the factory upgrade kit.

You can find the TSB covering the change here: TSB Drive Shafts - LAND ROVER CLUB V.I.

Cheers, doesn't look like what I've got.
Clear, quite large diameter tubing that terminates about midway through the cluster.
Didn't manage to undo the plugs in the diff, so still not sure if there's water in them.
I doubt it though, quick dip and I'd let my diffs cool so fingers crossed!

No SLS, I checked and I've deffs got standard breathers.
Not sure what the tube is, it terminates in the passenger light cavity, but it looks like it runs the length of the D pillar cavity in on the drivers side...
    Odd...

    By all means.
I'm thinking Scouse might be right, RAVE wouldn't tell me the termination point for the sunroof drains. Then again, I'm still learning how to drive RAVE
Turns out the RHS one terminates as well, and they run down the pillar not up.
Looking more and more like sunroof drains.
