Probably jumped out of gear, may need adjusting or may not have been fully home
No idea on the SRS
Hi all,
My Disco ii, td5, auto, 2000 had a CDL fitted a few months ago; Since then, I've had the Disco out twice.
The first time, the gears hit a neutral. It didn't matter where I moved the T-bar, there was no gears... Changed from CDL locked position to normal and all the gears came back.
The second time (Today), the SRS light came on in the instrument panel. A few minutes later, while climbing a hill, I heard and all mighty bang (like a CV cracked-exploded) and I had no gears. I moved the CDL from locked to normal and back and all the gears came back and finished climbing like nothing happened.
Question:
What can I do about the SRS in the instrument? What's blown? Is this a common issue? Like the 3 amigos?
Is the CDL issue also common?
Cheers.

1,
Transfer case is jumping out of low/high range. Select it while rolling very slowly in N (auto) & push it firmly. Push it again after travelling a few metres to make sure it's fully home.
2,
Check the connections (should be yellow harness) under the seats. Sometimes adjusting a seat will move the connector/harness if it's in the wrong spot.

What Scouse said. Jumping out of H or L, just adjustment. The SRS as he said is under the passenger seat, but if anything was under there, you may have stripped or broken a wire. Check here to re connect.
cheers
Nick
They do go BANG hey
I change mine by selecting D then R then N and shove hard.
I'd rather not be rolling as lately I'm only doing this with the van on the back--

Thank you all.
It's all sensible and common sense approaches.
This morning, I noticed the SRS light is off, and the new CDL shifter seems a little to close to the right - there's no room between the shifter and the console.
Next weekend, I'm hoping to take the console and plate out and do a little re-adjustment of the CDL. And have a look under the passenger seat at the connection. There was someone sitting there - passenger rear. My guess, they may have kicked it.
I'll report back as soon as I know more.
Cheers, and thank you.
