    dash lights

Today I backed out of a parking space and put my Disco 2 in forward gear and it would only crawl at about one or two kilometers per hour.
It had the M and the S lights (manual & sport) lights showing.
I stopped and turned off the motor. Then restarted it and away we went.
Question is , Should I start to worry?
    Any advice would be welcomed.
    Regards Nick. ( Worane)

Sometimes if you move from R to D too quickly, it will go into limp mode...

I too am getting these lights very frequently, sometimes twice a day. Should I be worried as its not always when changing D to R or R to D.Sorry for hijack just thought easier than starting another thread.

    Sounds like an XYZ switch
Have you hooked it up to a Nanocom or Hawkeye?
    Any fault codes?
    Also, hows your battery?
Do you get the flashing display near the speedo as well?

Check your battery and earth points first. It is also a sign of a knackered battery.

XYZ switch is around $800 from memory
    Used to be much cheaper.
Another reason to relocate the aircon drains.

Ohhh mate everything is a thousand bucks on these things .
I have an oil leak under there and blows back a little, I wonder if it could have oil on it causing it to play up.

First things first check your battery.
It's not always the worst case scenario
They jumped in price a while ago, used to only be $400 (only!) then they sky rocketed unfortunately.
It could be the oil, main cause if failure is the air con drains.
Between the XYZ switch and the front prop shaft, those aircon drains have a lot to answer for
One test for the XYZ switch, I'm not sure how effective/legitimate/etc it is, perhaps someone can confirm, is if you put your windscreen wipers on and stick the gearbox in reverse.
Supposedly if the XYZ switch is alright then it will send the signal for the rear wiper to come on
Like I said, not sure how true it is but it could be something for you guys to try
    Cheers
    Muppet
