Exclamation PLEASE; I need some help quick - SLS!

My cousin is stuck in Beechport, he's supposed to be heading home to Melbourne now.

The lefthand airbag won't pump up (sitting hard on the bumpstop). The right will move up and down, and he can't hear or feel any air leaks.

I've had a look at RAVE, and it seems to point soley to the left air valve - correct?

Is there a way to pump up the bag from an external compressor and then freeze the system. Fuse 9 or 11?

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

    Benji.

Only if you have an adaptor for a schneider valve

I don't believe the news is good. Unless you have a one way valve for only getting air into the line, then it's a bumpy ride back to town.... Any comment from others??? Perhaps you can clamp one onto the airline from a old stem somehow?? If you have an old stem or take it from the spare???

you can take the line of and use

6mm line to 1/4npt male thread adaptor
1/4 npt female to 3/8th npt femal
    schraeder to 3/8npt male.

Id lend you my gear but Im in the wrong location.

    you can also do

    6mm line to female nitto

    male/male nitto

then plug it onto a normal air compressor to pump it up prior to disconnecting it from the airbag first then the compressor.

Thanks guys, so it sounds like the manual emergency valves I use on the p38 will work on the Disco2s.

    Though i'm 5 hours away.

They've tried jacking up that corner to see if was a dodgy height sensor but still no cigar. They're still on the sand too...

For the moment they're putting a block on wood on the axle to get out, then it looks like a tow truck back to Melbourne.

Will fuse 11 stop the SLABS ecu letting down the right hand side?

    if you have the gear.....

remove the line adaptor from the top of the airbag, note the thread.

grab an old schreader valve, cut the rubber away (or use a valve extension)

thread the brass body of the valve with the appropriate die

coat liberarlly with loctite 567 or thread tape

    screw in and pump up...

    best of luck

Thanks so much; I think you've just described the manual overrides I have for the p38.

As the air pipe connection to the valve is a screw on connection, is there a brass collet on the pipe, or a flare of any sort; or is it just a straight pipe.

I'm trying to assertain if my p38 overrides will suit the D2, as there's 12 hours of driving return trip.

    Probably toolate now, but....

    G'day Benji.
Now that Blknght Dave has given you the well thougt out ideal, I'll give you a roug-arse bush fix.
Disconnect the multiplug to the compressor/valves.
Unscrew the appropriate airline at the compresor end, easier to reach than on the bag.
Inflate with a standard ball inflating needle to (IIRC) 85 psi, or level.
When sligtly over inflated (you will lose some air here), remove the needle and stick in a small, preselected forsize, nail.
Push in half way up thes shank.
If you have access to a nanocom or similair, reset the SLABS to coil springs.
Smile with relief, hope that it is just a valve fault.
    Good Luck.
    Dave.

Thanks for all the help guys.I was trying to get it working out out bush but we jacked it up and cable tied a heap of driftwood off the beach under it to get it back to camp.
Last news I had was it had a hole in the airbag.

    Ummm... Schrader, not Schneider valve

Doh, it didn't sound right when I typed it, but I only just got around to fixing the name. So, its a schrader valve..... (eg same as tyre stems)

    Tow to Mt Gambier (cheaper)...

Then go to Pirtek and get the connection (Schrader) you need,...

    Pump up...

    Drive home
