Oil Leak around Fuel Pressure Regulator
Can anyone indicate why I have oil around the back and base of my Fuel Pressure Regulator (FPR)? It is definitely oil, not diesel. FPR was replaced earlier this year. I did have an slow oil seep from the rocker cover, but this has been fixed. I degreased at the time, so unless the oil is very persistent, then it shouldn't be from there.
The recess that the FPR fits into didn't have any oil in it when I replaced it, so I assume that it's not from there? If I'm wrong, I assume that the regulator to engine gasket (msx000010) is leaking?
Thanks in advance.

I am pretty sure that gasket seals fuel only. I would be looking again at the rocker cover gasket.

Some research indicates that it may be the heavier components in diesel
One of the websites that I looked at last night suggested that whilst it looks like oil (and BTW doesn't smell like diesel), it could be the heavier, oil components in diesel. I'll keep an eye on it and if / when it builds up again, I'll try some other tests.

i agree it will probably be diesel, when I first noticed mine leaking I thought there was oil dripping onto the starter motor & it smelled more like oil than fuel, but it was definetly from the fuel regulator & could only have been diesel. Leak stopped when new FPR fitted.
