Sway bar bushes? Usually knock when turning either left or right.
That or you gave a small animal a quick lesson in flying.....
Okay.
Whoever solves this gets a 6 pack of their preferred poison.
What goes bang from the front RHS?
It's not a diff.
Not an axle.
Not a CV.
Has no obvious impact on vehicular performance.
Leaves no debris.
Makes no noise afterwards.
Not a propshaft.
Leaves no obvious visual marks.
Seriously has me stumped, and a little concerned.
I don't think I hit anything, there was nothing left on the road.
Accelerating up to speed in a 70km/h zone, noise occured.
Initially I thought it was the prop shaft but nope.
Still there.

bangs and bumps fore and aft! You go all out dont ya ?I really have no idea, Maybe a suspension bush/ shockie bush as you hit a bump/ pothole in the road?
Check the balljoints for play too. Maybe? look forward too your conclusions![]()
Hmmm yes it does tend to get a bit noisy
Last time I heard a similar noise it was a shackle coming off the eyelet on the bar at 80km/h
I'll check the sway bar bushes, as I'm certainly getting knocks when turning.
It didn't sound like a metal on metal impact, and I'd just noticed the fuel gauge light on so that had my immediate attention.
Hopefully it's nothing serious![]()
Tyre kicked up a stick, stone or something?![]()
It's a Land Rover, it's suppose to make noises!![]()
Here's an idea. On bushes where there is a bolt through a steel eye - like the panhard rod bushes & one end of radius arms - there might be a tiny bit of free play between the size of the bolt and the size of the eye. It only needs to be a tiny amount at both ends and with a sudden shift in weight, or suspension travel can make a clunk sound. Grab the panhard rod and radius arms and give them a hard shake back and forth, up and down. See if you can get a sound. Any small sound can easily be exaggerated while doing speed.
That's my bet. Report back.
edit: have you checked wheel bearings?
You`ll need to do more than just grab them and give `em a shake to check for wear - use a gemmy or pry bar and take weight off suspension first.
Good luck.
Roger
Have not checked wheel bearings.
Cheers for all the input guys, I'll check it a bit later. seems to be doing fine now.
I did give everything i could get my hands on a thorough shaking, including rocking the vehicle as violently as i could.
