grinding type noise in rear only when turning right

    Hi Everyone

I have just collected my car after having the auto and transfer case removed to fix some oil leaks and had the diff oil also replaced.

On collecting the car, I noticed a groaning type noise from the rear, similar to when your brake pads are worn down onto the disc but only when the car turned to the right, left hand turns and straight there was no noise at all

The noise was not there prior to this work being conducted and am looking for suggestions as to what it may be and a fix solution.

    Thanks

    Tim

Hard to say really, could be anything from no oil to dirt in the disc . Get it up on a jack on the groaning side and see what the wheel feels like, re play, movement(up/down) etc Give it a good workout shaking and turning, also give everything a good visual, bushs, bolts, everything.
    Cheers Scott

I noticed similar on my 2001 D2 recently, although sounded like noise was in rear right as i turned left, under acceleration only. I was thinking it was the ACE, but had not had it checked out.
Moot now, I'm OS, and my son had a bingle on Monday with a Prado, and ended up off the bitumen in some roadside scrub, bending most panels on the car - insurance is writing it off.

    Check and clean sensor

I have a 2002 Defender and have had similar experience when occasionally taking off from the lights, etc. Have just cleaned ABS sensors and tested-seems to have solved the problem. Yours could be similar....
