    Alarm Issue

    Hi Folks,
Have an odd issue with the alarm on my V8 2000 ES, in that all is normal re opening/closing with the remote unless the vehicle stands locked for 8 hours or more, ie over night.

Over this time period I have to unlock using the key and then disarm the alarm with the remote.
Is there a reason for this/has it been set this way? I have a Hawkeye but don't know if that can help

    Cheers Jerry

The BCU might be going to sleep due to rf interference.

    Cheers for the info

Could also be the battery is on the way out.

The BCU may record an error code for the alarm trigger. You should be able to check for this with the Hawkeye unit.

I found mine doing this nearly every night it was cold!!! But since I changed the battery it hasn't done it, to avoid the alarm use the key to manually unlock then remove the key from the door and press unlock like normal, well that's what works for me, but since I got the new 1000cca battery it's been good, but haven't had any terribly cold nights either which is when I noticed it did it.
