A faulty maf can also cause surging. Try disconnecting it and see what happens.

Is there oil at the red plug into the ECU?
From experiance only a little oil here can cause serging.
I fixed my loom(which you have replaced) and cleaned the plug with contact spray.
    Cheers, Kyle

Have you checked that the wastegate isn't frozen and that the wastegate actuator works?

Surging sounds like an over boost condition to me, so Graeme's suggestion to look for a sticking wastegate sounds on point if you have already checked the 3 small hoses from connected to the Modulator for splits etc, etc.

    cheers

I had some surging in mine (at around 2700-2900 rpm) until I replaced the MAF. No surging and much better performance since I replaced it the other day.
Cost was $250...... well worth the money in my book!

    Same here,changed it,no surge,better performance,etc.Mine surged badly under hard acceleration at 3000rpm & over.Under 3000rpm it drove reasonably well.
