Hi matt
would my local LR dealer know how to fix that?

Maybe. do you mean the plug near the air cleaner it plugs into the cylinder with the box on it about the size of a matchbox. That is the MAF or Mass Air flow sensor. If that is unplugged and it stopped the smoke then replacing that is just the hose clamps. Do it yourself. Where are you? Someone close by might have a spare that they can lend you for diagnostics. Hope this helps I would steer clear of the stealer.... sorry meant dealer. They will charge a fortune for a MAF check EBay. Cheers Matt
Hi matt
no the MAP it's on the inlet manifold and it's only a month old. the MAF is only two months old. I am now in Canberra.

Hi matt
swapped the MAP for another one still blows smoke.
not sure where to go next?
MAP?
Is that the same as the ambient air pressure (AAP) sensor?
Anyway whatever it is, if no smoke when disconnected, and smoke when connected, to two different good senors, then I would be looking for a cable/connector problem.:(
