    fuel leak update

    Fixed fuel leak on my 03 D2 TD5, replaced the green H.P fuel line, I took out the tank and covered all the four lines with flexible electrical conduit
    (because I had it in the shed ) and cable tied them in place and used silicon in the ends of the conduit so dirt can't get in, this proved to be a bit fiddley but was worth it in the end. When starting the engine by priming it according to the manual, it wouldn't start after 3 or 4 tries, so I used the unofficial method, which for those who don't know is the following;

    turn ignition key to position 2, wait 15 seconds, then repeatedly press the throttle pedal until the engine managment warning light starts flashing.

    the fuel pump will then cycle on and off for a couple of minutes, after it finished turn off ignition for 15 seconds and then start the engine.

    this is a longer and continuous purge which should get all the air out of the system.

    cheers all
