I have Cooper HT Plus in at the moment and they are awesome. Too bad they've stopped making them.
My mate can get me the D697's cheap. I should be getting pricing tomorrow.
If they're too pricey then I might look at buying 16" steel rims as a 2nd set.
Cooper AT3 in 265 60 18 on stock springs. Misses the front bumper by the proverbial bee's d***.

They do fill the guards.
Yeah Des, I don't do anything too outrageous but have had no issues at all. Had it in sill-deep ruts and mud holes, had a wheel in the air here and there, a little rock hopping, no rubbing. Seems the clearance in the guards is pretty good in these trucks.
Top pic is probably the best indication. The last three are on an uneven surface, all three with the truck in the same position. Note the reciprocal wheel positions for each axle.

I went with Yokohama Geolander ATS's.
They only came in sets of 4 so I also purchased a cheap Hercules tyre as a spare.
They are pretty quiet on road and reasonable off road. I have not had it any any real rough stuff though.
I picked them up off an ebay seller in Sydney for $1100 including delivery to Newcastle. I called them on a Friday afternoon and they offered me free delivery if I ordered and paid that day so it ended up about $100 cheaper than the ebay price.
I noticed that the car lagged a little bit on acceleration so I had the latest ECU map update installed - This cost me $350 including return shipping to the UK.
It made a big difference and although the torque converter comes in a bit later it holds in for longer when I decelerate and has made it much nicer to drive.
