    Window Regulator

I've had a clunking noise when I wind the drivers window up and down for a while now and thought it was probably a cactus roller, so I removed the door trim. Well I was lucky I guess, the bolts holding the regulator in place were all loose and to my suprise it already had brass(?) rollers fitted. Tightened it all up and the noise is solved.
The puzzling thing is that there is a block of wood in the bottom of the door that stops the window from going down as far as it could. So should I leave it there or take it out? Would it have been put because something else should stop the window but is no longer there? Any advise is welcome.
    Thanks.

Take it out and see what happens. It's not an original part but just check if the Land Rover logo is on it.

Also check if there are any stops in there to be sure.

Just think of the improved fuel economy when you off load the lumber.

You also have one less thing to rule out when unusual noises develop.

    Regards
    Andrew

Thanks Andrew.I ended up taking it out and carefully putting the window down. The world didn't implode and the window didn't fall out. So up and down a few more times without it and it all seemed ok, so it is out for good.
It was stuck to the bottom of the door with a bit of silastic so I am assuming someput it there for a reason but that reason is a mystery to me.

I never realized that there were speakers in the front doors until today. (Yes almost blonde) I Plugged them back in. Another mystery.

I had the bottom roller go on mine. Did a10 cent fix and found that when the window hit the bottom it would jam stuck in the down position. So i think that may be what the wood is for. I don't know what i did when i pulled it out and put it back in but it worked fine after that. Lol
