ashcroft transmissions from the uk or pm .50 on here.![]()
If you want a good lever I'd suggest one of the following:
1) Used D2a lever ($500-600 when available. Bundalene lists them on eBay occasionally)
2) .50 modified factory lever - only minor difference to the D2a lever (around $400 shipped from UK)
3) Ashcroft lever - works well but has an open back with rubber boot vs closed back of factory and .50 levers (about $380)
If you have air lockers installed there is an air actuated CDL mechanism available that looks pretty cool.
The .50 lever requires less enlargement of the existing hi-lo cut out, but otherwise the install requires the same amount of work.

You can see the open back design of the Ashcroft lever in the video - the product shots studiously avoid showing this since they started including a rubber boot.

I'm in the process of trying to organize one through .50
Wonder if its worth seeing who else is keen for one, get some numbers together?
its very easy to put a small cranked arm on the gearbox spigot and connect a ball/rod end to a 8/10mm rod run through a guide on the chassis to approx under the driver...you just have to get out of the vehicle to actuate it....I've had mine like that for years and its no bother to get out when you want to engage it...cost....about $10
I personally went an Ashcroft, I'm more then happy with the product![]()
mmmm $370 difference.....thats ahhhh.....9 bottles jack daniels....hic!
from what get from from what i've read is find a wrecker close to me and get the hi/lo selector out of something past 03 and fit it to my 00 model i have welder angle grinder drills and a nack for dodgin **** up so any one tell me i'm wrong to think gettin a hi/lo selector from a wreckers is a good idea
Wreckers is a good idea but you will often pay same money as ordering from Ashcroft or .50 direct.![]()
And unless you find a wrecker who has no idea about Disco 2's they will know what a D2a factory lever is worth. And that is in the range of $500-700. If you find one cheaper you will have done very well.
The Ashcroft and .50 levers are the cheaper option. Dropping below that your getting into the Hack and Bodgjit solutions.
