98% of all Land Rovers built are still on the road.
The other 2% made it home.
Cost difference between Britpart and Genuine seals: £2.04. Knowing that your brakes won't fail at any moment: Priceless.
It's just a normal metric spanner (sizes above), except it's thinner to fit in the space needed.
I bought a tow ball spanner from Supercheap, cut the end out and slightly widened the gape until it fit perfectly. Cheap spanner and plenty of room between the pulley and fan hub.

Had an old spanner that hadn't been used for years that fitted the nut perfectly but was too fat. Ground the sides down until it fitted.
Failing that, they are around $40 to buy IIRC.
One I made up, I dont leave home without it!
And a 36mm spanner.

Pretty sure if you go to a MALZ, they have a 36mm as a Ford fan spanner.
Nick
I removed my viscous fan last week to remove alternator.
Removed one bolt from fan pulley , using a 12" shifter gave a decent short tap with a hammer . ( If really tight hold pulley with a long square shafted screw driver using bolt heads.)
Undo fan counter clockwise TD5
If you make the spanner the "right" length and drill a couple more holes, and using either M6 or M8 bolts (about 25mm IIRC) the spanner can be bolted to the crankshaft pulley with the other end resting above the chassis rail. Then with the correct socket and a decent breaker bar, you can undo the pulley without having to jam a rod into the ring gear or some equally suspect manouvre to hold the crank in place. Placing end of said spanner under chassis rail enables the pulley to be adequately tightened.
Likewise, the same holes with a couiple of bolts as above also make said spanner a suitable tool for retaining diff flanges so flange nut can be removed/replaced... All in all a very versatile piece of kit!
