There isnt a seperate pump that goes into the housing.
ITs a wierdo thing that no available off the shelf pump that IVe been able to find can be fitted in without extensive mods or an unaccepatble performance drop.
I have searched this topic but cannot the Bosch part number for the separate fuel pump that can be fitted to the fuel pump/sender assembly.
I thought I had an auto trans problem with loss of power but some low speed response, I managed to get home the engine was not running smoothly and after stopping would not start again, no screeching I have not tried the mallet to the bottom of the fuel pump.
The pump was not running the relay was suppling 12vdc to the multi plug but no pump action. I checked local supply at $900 + The Uk listed $384 genuine $150 non-genuine.
I saw the separate Bosch pump suggestion can anyone help with the part number and supplier probably Bosch?

Jeez I just threw an old one in the bin last week. I thought it was VDO or Siemens that built the part. Nothing in their parts catalogue?
..... Maybe it was them who made the new maf sensor?

I think the consensus is aftermarket = junk.
Either OEM (VDO/Siemens) or LR is fine.
Add: after looking at the price of genuine vs VDO shipped from the UK, it seems to be just as cheap to buy genuine LR.

The orders going in for the LR part.
The D2 is low Klms at 120k but is 11yrs old some of the posts I have seen are around 160k for fuel pump replacement. This question is a bit of a stretch because of all the other factors involved but is wear 100/150k the usual failure?
Fitted the LR fuel pump and what a difference.
I usually turn the key to 'Dash lights on wait for them to go out and then start the vehicle. With the ign on the old fuel pump would run for an age. The new one runs for a few seconds and stops, start and run the engine for awhile stop and go to start again and the pump does not run it seems to have kept pressure. So if the long running of the pump a sign of wear and a predictor of potential failure?

My Td5 fuel pump has been long running from 100 to 120k then failed. Is this common?
I think its just a purge system.
