    Oil Pressure Switch

Took the turbo heat shield off to replace a missing nut on the exhaust manifold, and saw that the outer plastic covering on the oil pressure leads had disintegrated, the leads are also burnt and require replacing. This led to finding that the black lead had broken where it passed over the housing at the rear of the engine.I thought a ten minute job until trying to find the lead on the driver side of the engine. I cannot find it.Does the lead go directly to the lamp at the rear of the instrument panel,or to a fuse box?Grateful for help. The leads are yellow and black.
The lamp comes on for the bulb test when switching the ignition on but of course would not light in the event of oil pressure failure. This may have happened due to the escaping gasses from the exhaust, but I tend to think it happened some time ago by the look of it. Another good reason for leaving the turbo cover off but also noticed the plastic windscreen washer tubing got very hot after a short test run.

The black wire stops in the conduit above the gearbox and goes no further.
Only the yellow wire is used so all is normal.

I recently had the automatic removed on mine and it broke the wire at the plug
With it not conected the oil lamp on the dash will not light up on the bulb check.
I had to swap the terminals in the plug and then joind the wires back up.

While changing conduits look at the one across the front of the head also.

    Cheers, Kyle.

Thanks Alien, The black lead looks as though it is cut and not broken.Obviously that is why I could not find the other end. Strange why a certain amount is left in the conduit.

RAVE shows the black as connected.

The wiring diagram shows it as "earthed through fixing" and no connector pin number corresponding with the black.

    Even LR were confused.
