Question TD5 MAF - how to identify a genuine Land Rover one

How do I identify if a MAF sensor for a TD5 is a genuine one or an aftermarket replica? Who made the OEM units for Land Rover?

genuine units are VDO / Siemens & I would only use a OEM in a VDO / Siemens box , the brand is clearly visible on the MAF itself

Yep Siemens/VDO are OEM. From memory the only difference between them and the land rover original I replaced was that the landrover one had the part number moulded into the plastic it also said Siemens.

Cheers. I bought one from Paddock Spares for GBP60.00 and based on your information is it definately genuine. Came in a VDO box with all the correct part numbers and Land Rover sticker. Has Siemens and the part number moulded into the body.
