    TD5 chain tensioner leak

I have what appears to be a growing oil leak from the timing chain tensioner washer . Reading the manual it implies I need to pin the crank and the camshaft to undo the tensioner .
Would I get away with removing and reinstalling it without pinning it ? I am tempted to say it would be ok but wonder if anyone knows first hand . hate it to jump a tooth .

Will also change the seal on the cam cover , little black bung , as searches say that can leak however it was replaced a year ago when the head was done .

    Thanks
    Chris

The tensioner can be removed with out pinning the cam or crank.
    I've done it before on 2 TD5's.
Don't turn the motor over and all should be good.

Also check the oil lines to the vachume pump on the altenator.
They can weap and it is close to the tensioner.

    Cheers, Kyle.
