Thread: How to reinflate air spring that did not inflate correctly first time

Can't say I've ever seen one not inflate correctly. Got a picture?

I have shrader valves fitted in line in the system, so I blow mine up with my garage air compressor instead of loading up the vehicles small compressor.

Why not deflate them (the same method you would of used to deflate the old ones) and fill again to see if it comes right?

Or put it in offroad mode so that it inflates further, then back to road height and see if that changes anything?

Maybe drive it over the gutter a couple of times and see if it bounces into place? This is the dodgy me talking...

I am replacing the air springs in my D2a. I manage to inflate one correctly. However, the other has not. The new springs are Dunlop. They had about 2 inches rolled down at the bottom. This has now unrolled and the spring will not inflate correctly.

Richard, jack the side of the vehicle up (the side with the problem spring) under the front of the trailing arm mounting on the chassis with a decent trolley jack, deflate the spring and then reinstall airline. Start vehicle, close all doors and slowly lower the jack until you can see air start to enter the bag. At this point, raise the jack slightly and then watch for misalignment. Then lower the vehicle slowly and all should be fine, it should then roll over the lower piston correctly.
