Is the vehicle driving fine or do you actually have an issue? If there's no issue with the MAF plugged in or unplugged, just assume it's fine.

Was thinkin. The AAP sensor (filter airbox) has a constant 5 volt supply from ecu. Could I tap that 5V into terminal 2 connection on the maf to fool the ecu to max airflow thru the maf and see how shes goes?
I think you are better off unplugging MAF and letting the ECU work on default parameters. I doubt very much the Full Tilt airflow is going to be what is required for most driving conditions.

After more research on here I realised that the stutter/surging I get at around 2000-2250rpm & 80-90km/h is due to the stuffed MAF so I'll definitely be getting a new one (genuine Siemens/VDO, $185 from TR Spares).
The stutter sounded like the lack of or default MAF readings was confusing the auto & it didn't know whether to **** or go blind & was locking & unlocking the torque converter over & over at the above speed & rev range.
Found on another post that RAVE mentions this as a problem associated with a stuffed MAF.
