Lost Keys TD5 Disco 2 2001
I lost my only key in the sand at the beach.
I called Landrover Geelong as they had replaced and reset my faulty remote last year.
He gave me a code to get a blank cut and gave me the EKA code after I gave him my VIN details.
The key did not even turn in the lock.
I then called URL Malvern and they told me that I was given the wrong code and gave me a new code to get a blank cut. This one turns but does not pop the button up.
My car has been parked on beach road for a week, what next?

Hi welcome to D2 ownership!
Ok The thing to do is first go back to the locksmith who cut the key and double check it is correct, second if it is correct, contact ULR and have them speak to the locksmith. Is there a service record with your vechile? Check it. Those are the first steps I would take.
Cheers Scott

Hello parky chick
If you know the approximate position where the key was lost, perhaps buying a cheap metal detector is an option. You can pick up them up off Ebay for around sixty bucks or buy one straight away from a shop.
It may save some time, money and mucking around.
Cheers,
Jason

Breaking a window won't help. The buttons won't pull (as you're probably aware) and the dash switch is disabled when you lock it.
It's odd that the key turns but doesn't activate the button. From experience when EKA accessing there's resistance before button movement as expected. Unless you've also popped the linkage off the lock or latch and then I'd buy a metal detector.

turning the door barrel clockwise with abit of force should lift the sill button, they are quite tight because they never get used. once you have the correct key cut the eka is Emergency Access Code, that disarms the immobilizer.
i work in a dealership in gippsland and if you like i could find out abit more info for you? send me your number and i'll see what i could do. I have a d2 and only recently my wife experienced the same issue yet didn't loose the key the immobilizer just packed it in (turned it off yet to look at that yet) i could talk you through the EKA if that would help?
