    2nd battery on the sls compressor mount

    G'day again, has anyone fitted a sealed 2nd battery on the sls compressor mount, under the car , on the chassis?The only issue I can see is waterproofing, if I am not doing radical 4X4. Bob
    I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

    I initially had a sealed calcium battery mounted upright there but when it failed due to not being suitable for my fridge I replaced it with a Remco 80AH AGM lying on its side. I had a base plate to give full width/height protection that stayed in place using short legs protruding over the edges and fitted rubber belting to the forward face to ensure stones didn't cause damage.

    Edit: I took too long to reply!

    Edit2: That original battery failed with a very shallow depth of charge from the voltage having been run too low too many times but its still doing duty starting a small bore pump 5 years on.
