Why not just get a standard heat exchanger?
A lot less hassle and more efficient I would have thought
Hi, I am considering removing the middle silencer of the exhaust on my D2 and was wondering if it would be a good idea to give the replacement pipe a wrap with copper pipe ( 6mm x 2-3mts) which could then heat water when the engine is running. I realise weight could be an issue but will measure the old muffler and work out some weights for the copper pipe. It may be a case of making it a plug in system so it is only full of water when the vehicle is parked so the extra weight doesn`t vibrate through the exhaust fittings. Your thoughts?
