Hi all. Long time watcher, first time poster.
I've had Stu (2000, sls & ace) for 6 months now and I love him. However, he has thrown me a few curve balls already. After changing the starter solenoids, I now have dash lights coming on, like a pre-check, after I start him.
They go out after 3 secs, like a pre-start, (except for my three budys who are now visiting) but I'm wondering if I've messed up an earthing or something whilst doing the solenoids?
I dont want to fry my ecu or bcu by not fixing it.
Cheers from Mike (me) and Stu (him).
Is it after you start up,The correct way to start does allow for the vehicle to carry out its own pre start,Turn the key to the on position, all the lights should come on then as the system checks itself the lights should go off except for the engine light and anything that reports a fault"usually the 3 amigo's"after all the lights have gone off you then start the engine if all is good you should hear three gongs and all lights are off.Thats how mine works anyway, hope i havn't missed anything.
Yeah, after start up. Pre ignition, wait for lights to cycle and glow plug light to go out. Then start and lights cycle again... Just dont want to blow anything up!
Cheers
