    Door key wont unlock

I was reading my manual about the EKA code and I thought I would try it out.

However when I put the key into the door it turns 90 degrees left or right with no resistance at all, does than mean the lock is broken or has the shaft fallen off?

Hope my battery doesn't go flat in the meantime.

    Cheers
    Marc

    D2. EKA
Turn from the center to the right CW hold for 5secs or until the alarm beeps once.
    Turn back to the center
Turn the key to the right ? times
Turn the key to the left ? times
Turn the key to the right ? times
Turn the key to the left ? times
Turn from the center to the right CW hold for 5secs or until the alarm beeps twice. If it beeps once it is not unarmed. A=10 B=11 etc

I change mine with a Nanocom to simple number

    Regards Ollie

Just a thought if the battery is flat The EKA will not work, with the boys V8 we were able to fit leads to the start from the underneath

FROM OLLIE - I change mine with a Nanocom to simple number

Ollie - brilliant idea! Is it very complicated? (I haven't trolled through the BBS documentation to check if there is anything there yet).

I did it so it can't be too difficult
It took a while to sort out what the letters represented with A = 10 and I had F which would mean 15 Turns of the key so I changed the four digits to lower numbers it was a case of following the Nanocom screen prompts

My battery is good, it's just the key doesn't do anything in the lock, it turns a total of 180 degrees but doesn't do anything.

I like the idea of changing the code too

Well I fixed it today, quite simple really, someone must have had the door handle off in the past or changed the door latch and not put everything back in the correct locations. Pictures tell a thousand words.

Hey Marc (or anyone with info that may help),

Can you take a look at this video and tellme if there's anything obviously amiss or just not doing what it should be doing please?

This is with the new actuator fitted too.

    Cheers.

Yes, I know what it is, mine did the same thing, the black plastic clip on the lower part of the rod needs to be lowered further down the rod, so it pushes down on the latch sooner, but not too far down so that the door opens too easily.

The black clip should unclip from the rod, if not, you can unclip the top of the rod and unscrew it.

    Cheers
    Marc.
